Attention to Detail — Katharine is meticulous in her work, paying close attention to every detail to ensure that each floral design is unique and memorable, complementing and enhancing the overall ambiance of the event.

A Stress-Free Experience — Planning an event can be stressful, but working with a floral designer can help alleviate some of that stress. Katharine will take care of all the details, from selecting and sourcing the flowers to coordinating with your florist and setting up the arrangements on the day of the event.

Meet Katharine, Your Floral Designer and Consultant

Our owner, Katharine, is a master gardener and has been a gardener for over 30 years. She brings extensive knowledge and a creative eye to the gardens throughout the property.

Katharine has loved flowers since she was very young. She grew up in the Colorado mountains, where the season for them was only a few short months. But she remembers planting pansies and hoping they would last a little longer, even in the cold. 

It felt like a blank canvas when she and her husband moved to the farm. She used the months she wasn't teaching to fill the empty space in the garden and on the grounds. 

Four years later, on maternity leave with her first child, she began selling floral arrangements at the Honesdale Farmers' Market.

Now the floral story continues as she is thrilled to provide fresh floral arrangements, consultations, or collaborate with local florists.

And the rest, as they say, is history…

Floral Design Consulting FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions we get when it comes to our wedding and event floral design consulting.

If you have a question you don’t see answered here, feel free to contact us directly.

  • Great question! Here’s our 6-step process…

    1. Submit your inquiry (below).

    2. Katharine will follow up to schedule a 20-minute Zoom call to discuss your vision. Based on that, she will give you a price quote. Consulting typically ranges from $250-$1000 based on your events and needs.

    3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll make a deposit and schedule your first 1:1 consultation where you’ll discuss your vision with Kathrine in detail.

    4. 1 month before your big day, you’ll have a quick touch base with Katharine to secure any last-minute details.

    5. 2 weeks before, you’ll have your final touch base, talking through all final details and arrangements. Final payment is due at that time.

    6. Day of your event, we’ll take care of coordinating floral delivery, set-up, etc.

  • While we pride ourselves on designing florals led by our clients’ style, our floral style is focused on natural and organic blooms.

    We love to design flowers the way they grow; free-flowing… though maybe a bit more confined than an overflowing August in the garden!

  • Whatever you choose!

    Katharine can provide a full-service floral design (she only does so for Fox Hill Farm and 6th & River) or you can choose the florist yourself, and she’ll coordinate all details and designs with them.

    Katharine will discuss this with you during your 20-minute consultation.

  • Ceremony florals are an excellent addition as they look lovely in pictures of the wedding.

    They’re also a great option because they can be reused in some way for the reception to add that pop of color and texture to the space.

  • No, we do not charge extra to transport your flowers.

  • We work with each couple to design the look you desire.

    Sometimes it may be easier to start with a color, and sometimes it is easier to start with a seasonal flower.

    No matter the inspiration, we will work together to make your wedding floral dreams come true!

  • We believe wedding party florals are a great investment.

    The florals enhance portraits, group photos, and ceremony pictures. Plus, they can be reused and dried as a memento of the occasion.

  • Katharine and her team only provide full service floral design services for Fox Hill Farm and 6th & River.

    We will work with you and for you to ensure your floral vision is brought to life, no matter if we provide the florals or another florist.

  • Absolutely! It’s possible that your final arrangement may not be an exact replica of your inspiration photo, but we do our best to get as close to it as possible.

    And since you’re working with experienced floral professionals, the result of our collaboration is always an arrangement that’s as unique as your big day or special occasion.

  • Yes! We will make every effort to accommodate your request, letting you know what’s available and possible.

  • Yes!

  • We rent a variety of stylized elements, including votives, candlesticks, lanterns, chuppahs, and different types of raised centerpieces.

    If we do not have what you’re looking for, we’ll refer you to trusted local rental companies to secure the items that make it all come together.

  • While you can find photos of our floral work here on this page, we are happy to create a sample specific to your flower design vision.

    We’ll create any requested samples after the contract has been signed.

  • Yes. We’d love to!

    Cake floral designs are included in the consultation.

    Additional fees will apply for the actual flowers, and be payable to your florist.

  • We don’t provide that service but we would be happy to refer you to trusted professionals who do amazing preservation work with event florals.
