A baby was born...
George, born in the 1896 farmhouse on the property, always dreamed he would come back, raise his own family on the farm and work in the family business. Little did he know, his wife would not only embrace farm life, but take it to an extreme! After buying the property from his father, George and Katharine realized it was a blank slate for growing gardens galore and much, much more--eventually including their daughter, Anna, and son, Parker.
Several trips out to Katharine's home state of Colorado, led George to imagine he could raise cattle in a similar method to his brother-in-law, Bill. Through proper management the cattle and chickens are used to reinvigorate the pastures and provide healthy, very local food.
Katharine, a former middle school science teacher, has turned the blank slate into a lot of flowers, trees and shrubs, or, "a lot to mow around." Through garden design, weddings, personal bouquets, workshops and other avenues, she shares her zeal with whomever will listen!
The dream continues...
The Brown family absolutely love to share their passion for the outdoors, farming, animals, and the wonders of nature. They hope the EXPERIENCE of coming to Fox Hill Farm will leave people feeling good, knowing something new, and loving the natural world in which we all live.
