Discover Two Unforgettable Event Spaces with Limitless Possibilities

Experience Our Historic Venues in NEPA

If you are looking for a unique venue near the Catskills, Poconos, Philadephia, or New York City, we invite you to check out 6th & River and Fox Hill Farm — both have vibrant histories to match their gorgeous ambiance.

And our team, including our venue owner and founder Katharine, is dedicated to helping you create your most treasured memories in these spaces.

6th & River: An Industrial Factory Event Venue with Entrepreneurial Roots

Our 6th & River warehouse event space was Built in 1902 by brothers Jacob, Jonas, and Samuel Katz to house their Katz Underwear Company.

In fact, the space we occupy was once a large sewing room where women sat side by side and used hand-operated machines to manufacture wearables for the Katz product line.

When our founder Katharine’s friend, Heather Hogan Spencer (the co-founder and creator of the Bodhi Tree Art School and Studio), opened their space in the building, she suggested Katharine check out the “back room.” It was love at first sight. And because weather extremes can impact outdoor weddings, 6th & River was a gorgeous and practical indoor event space.

The renovation was a monumental undertaking supported by many amazing people. And during the renovation of our wood floors, we unearthed thousands of pins and needles between the planks, preserved there for over a century.

The historic factory is now home to businesses with a true entrepreneurial spirit (and we’re sure the Katz brothers would be proud).

Fox Hill Farm’s Rich & Familiar History

Born in the late-nineteenth-century farmhouse on the property, George, Katharine’s husband, always hoped he would return, raise his family on the farm, and work in the family business. Little did he know, his wife would not only embrace farm life but truly love it and start digging in immediately.

When George and Katharine returned to the farm, they realized it was a blank slate for growing flowers, pasturing grass-fed beef, tending poultry, and, most importantly, raising children.

After ten years of landscaping the farm and cleaning the barn, Katharine and George were asked to host their first wedding. It was welcome news, and they excitedly got to work.

With tons of help from friends and family near and far, Fox Hill Farm is now a captivating place to celebrate special occasions and weddings.

Many celebrations later, we continue to dedicate ourselves to making every wedding and special event ease-filled and unforgettable.

Meet Katharine, Founder & Florist

6th & River and Fox Hill Farm founder Katharine loves creating spaces for people to feel comfortable as they enjoy remarkable, memorable occasions with their friends and family.

Her passion for bringing unassuming spaces to life and adorning them with flowers allows her to create unique experiences for every client we work with each year.

Katharine loves growing flowers for floral design and teaching others about gardening, floral design, and plants.

She’s also passionate about taking old, dilapidated, and forgotten things and giving them new life.

Her vision with the two venues is to cultivate unforgettable experiences and educational opportunities that foster love and respect for nature and one another.

“I’ve been lucky to have traveled to many places to see possibilities. I’ve been lucky enough to have had my hands in the soil for most of my life, and I’m not scared of hard work... Most of all, I’ve been lucky to love and be loved and want to share the feeling throughout my life.” She explains.

Katharine treasures the chance to share her love of the outdoors and gardening with anyone as enthusiastic about those things as she is!

And, for her, there is nothing better than watching two people get married in historic, enchanting spaces surrounded by their loved ones!

Meet Laura, Managing Director

Laura is the Managing Director at 6th & River and Fox Hill Farm.

She’s worked at Fox Hill Farm since the business began, assisting with events and floral design. Over time, with the expansion to 6th & River, Laura became the venue manager and floral designer.

When asked, Laura shares that her favorite part of her job is celebrating unforgettable special moments with clients. She loves seeing each couple's unique vision as they design their big day.

These moments become treasured lifelong memories for the clients, of course, but also for Laura herself.

She’s been involved in every wedding at 6th & River since our opening and has also offered floral design for over one hundred weddings.

“My favorite part of working with brides and grooms is seeing the authenticity and creativity each couple brings to 6th & River. No two couples are the same, and I love to watch each couple navigate their own unique happily ever after.”

Laura is passionate about working personally with clients to bring their dream wedding days and special occasions to life at 6th & River and Fox Hill Farm.
